Help A Child Project - Arobanam Boy's Home Killinochchi

Distribution of Books and Stationary to the Orphan children in Arobanam Boy's Home Kilinochchi On 16th July 2011

The Arobanam Boys Home was set up in the 1950's to provide skilled training to the poor and the underprivileged as means for gaining employment. However, when the war started in the 1970's the Home began to accommodate war affected children, orphans and children of families impoverished by the conflict. Due to the continues fighting, the Home was shifted to Akkarayan in 1997 and to Madhu in 1998. The Home resumed its work at its original location in 1999 but the intensity of the war compelled its closure in 2008.

The Home reopened in 2010, lending care and support to the children in need including orphans and those displaced. The Home continues to provide these children with accommodation and the opportunity to study in an environment conducive to their progress and well being.
