Help A Child Project - Bibile, Monaragala

Distribution of School Books and Stationary to the children of Bibile, Monaragala On 27th May 2012.

Monaragala, meaning the "rock of peacock landing" is a district in Uva Province, Sri Lanka. It is the largest and the most poorest of the 25 districts of Sri Lanka, with an area of 7,133 km². Moneragala district is mainly made up of rubber, cocoa and sugar cane plantations and paddy lands. The valley is mostly dry. The townships are located in the flat land. The main occupation of those who live here is farming. Cultivation of land is linked to the monsoon.

The population of the Bibile division is about 38386 most with low income earners. Even though education is free in the country, parents find it difficult to afford other necessity items such as books, school supplies, shoes clothes and most often even basic three meals.
